A must-have trailfix at least one person in the group needs to carry.
The 1FZ power steering pump has a tapered hole with a plug jammed into it from the factory. Likely for machining operation access. Over time, these have been known to get sent into orbit, along with all of the fluid it holds back. This is a less than ideal situation when you're on a trail/away from your parts pile.
One of these should live in your glove box/center console, right next to your extra fusible link and emergency brake line plug.
When the inevitable happens and you find yourself with no steering, simply pop this badboy out of cold storage, jam into the open hole in your power steering pump, tap/lock into place with a rock/stump/wrench/whatever, loop the lanyard around the nearby hose incase it pops out again and snug down with included hex key. Fill with oil, be on your merry way.
As always, made right here in the USA from USA material.
