If you own an 80 Series Land Cruiser, you’ve likely faced the decision of whether to remove the rear heater. Common reasons for removing it include:
- Rear heater core leaking inside the cab
- Corroded and leaking rear heater pipes
- Need to add accessories under the passenger seat
Upon removing the rear heater core, you’ll need to cover the hole in the floorboard to prevent water or animals from entering. While the traditional solution has been two strips of iso-butyl rubber, we offer a more refined option.
Installation Instructions:
- Sound Deadening (Optional): Decide whether to add sound deadening material before installation.
- Neoprene Gaskets: Apply silicone grease to one side of the first neoprene gasket and place the greased side on the bottom indexing plate to prevent movement.
- Repeat the greasing process for the second gasket and apply it to the top plate.
- Positioning: With the help of an assistant, hold the bottom plate in place.
- Position the top plate and use the supplied hardware to secure it to the bottom plate.
- Final Check: Ensure the gaskets are correctly positioned and nothing has shifted before tightening both screws.
Includes:
- (1) CNC machined and anodized top plate
- (1) CNC machined and anodized indexing bottom plate
